Biologica provides the world's most advanced multivitamin, designed for women based on their hormonal stage of life.
Insights: Elizabeth Zwillinger, Co-Founder
Why now and why you?
Women's health has been perennially underfunded and under-resourced, leaving women out of the core innovation pipeline for critical nutritional supplementation. By solely focusing on women, and by breaking the population down by hormonal stage, we are able to tailor specific nutritional intervention that will provide the correct dosages of baseline minerals, as well as clinically backed ingredients to provide acute symptom relief for the ailments most commonly afflicting our customers.
What fuels your competitive advantage?
Innovation, clinical approach, and breakthrough packaging.
What’s your proudest accomplishment to date??
Incredible products that are effective and that women take every day with great success.
What is the one thing you wish someone had told you?
We're very excited about our products, the brand, and our success in our launch period. The noise in wellness is loud and often lacks scientific backing, which makes the marketing challenge very hard. This is a widely known fact but one that is worth taking great caution around if the goal, like ours is, is to make a long-term brand that every woman feels compelled to take daily.
What would you tell your past self before starting this journey?
Enjoy the journey—both the ups and the downs.
What does success look like in the next 3-5 years?
We aspire to be the go-to daily wellness routine for every woman in America.
What's one industry trend that is overhyped, and what's being overlooked?
There are so many fads in wellness and particularly with supplements. Gummy as a form factor is overhyped and not working as well, and specific ingredient fads, like NAD and even creatine, are receiving far too much attention versus what the clinical data and side effects require. In general, women's products are men's products that are “shrinked and pinked” and this means that they are much less effective given the vast differences in biology between the sexes.
How do you think the industry needs to evolve?
Less biohacking and more credible science targeted to specific populations.
If you could wave a magic wand, what one wish would you make for your business?
For every person in America to know about us!
